Background
Gaia Photonics was founded by Ingo Speier [link] in 2008 as an independent organization that specializes in providing consulting services in Solid State Lighting (SSL).
The founder has been involved in SSL since 2004 and helped visionary SSL companies develop award winning technologies:
- Developed a compact and cost effective plant health sensor that allows detection of plant stress before current technologies
- Invented, developed and lead the NPI efforts of Quarkstar's award winning Edge-X technology
- Cofounded Cooledge Lighting
- Was instrumental in the development of the award winning LEXEL technology at Philips Lighting (formerly TIR Systems)
- Inventor on more than 100 patent filings worldwide

Our team has extensive expertise in Solid State Lighting (SSL) and is frequently providing innovative solutions, from concept design to product launch, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Combining design and simulation expertise with in house prototyping and optical characterization capabilities drastically reduces the development cycle time and time to market.
